Àltima Funeral Home in Barcelona has upgraded its sound infrastructure with a new Ecler-based audio system designed and installed by PROSOUND. The project covers two indoor ceremony rooms and a large outdoor garden area, ensuring a consistent listening experience throughout the venue.
From the outset, the system was designed to meet several key requirements: ensuring excellent speech intelligibility during ceremonies, maintaining uniform coverage across all areas, blending discreetly with the architecture, and providing simple operation for staff. In addition, the installation needed to support both independent operation and combined use of the different spaces depending on attendance requirements.
Optimised coverage in the Mediterrani Room
The Mediterrani Room features a longitudinal layout that required uniform coverage throughout the space while minimising the number of visible loudspeakers.
To meet this challenge, six black-finish eMOTUS8OD loudspeakers were installed in a symmetrical configuration, with three units on each side of the room. Thanks to their wide dispersion, they provide consistent coverage throughout the venue, ensuring clear speech reproduction and balanced background music.
The system is powered by an AURA-2B600 amplifier, while microphone and music sources are managed through a SAMI-612 mixer, simplifying operation during ceremonies.
Architectural integration in the Tibidabo Room
In the venue’s main ceremony space, the Tibidabo Room, the priority was to achieve uniform sound coverage while preserving the aesthetics of the environment.
The solution consists of twelve VIC-6 ceiling loudspeakers strategically distributed to ensure excellent speech intelligibility across all listening areas. The 100 V line configuration provides flexibility when adjusting levels and adapting the system to different occupancy scenarios.
To enhance music reproduction, two ultra-compact ARQISSB6Ti subwoofers were discreetly integrated near the altar area. Their compact dimensions allow for low-frequency reinforcement without affecting the room’s appearance.
Amplification is provided by an AURA-4B600 amplifier, which powers both the main loudspeaker system and the low-frequency reinforcement.
