At NID, we believe the future of the professional audiovisual industry depends on collaboration between manufacturers, distributors, system integrators and technology professionals. That is why we are proud to join AFDAE (Spanish Association of Audiovisual Manufacturers and Distributors), an organisation committed to promoting the industry, supporting professional development and representing the sector.
To mark this new chapter, David Haro, General Manager of NID, shares his thoughts on the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the professional AV market.
Our priority is to continue strengthening a value-added distribution model. We want to be more than a product supplier by supporting our partners and system integrators through technical assistance, training and business development.
Today's market demands expertise, specialised support and the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies. That is why we remain focused on delivering complete solutions to our customer network while reinforcing our local presence across Spain and Portugal.
Technology integration, connectivity and operational efficiency will continue to define the market. Projects increasingly rely on software, remote monitoring, centralised management and data-driven decision making alongside hardware.
Artificial intelligence is also beginning to play a role, particularly in system automation and optimisation, although its adoption in complex professional AV environments is still at an early stage.
Sustainability will also become a decisive factor. Energy efficiency, product longevity and logistics optimisation are no longer optional features but key purchasing criteria, and many of the brands distributed by NID already place these values at the centre of their product development.
The Spanish audiovisual industry is in a very strong position. We have highly skilled professionals, innovative companies and projects that compete with the very best across Europe.
Over recent years, Spain has delivered outstanding work in touring, systems integration, hospitality and entertainment, while the Iberian market has become increasingly important for international manufacturers.
Challenges remain, particularly in terms of business growth, investment and institutional recognition, but the industry is undoubtedly more mature, collaborative and professional than it was a decade ago.
We believe AFDAE has an important role to play as a unified voice for the professional audiovisual industry in Spain.
The association can continue promoting initiatives that increase the visibility of the sector, encourage professional training, attract new talent and strengthen relationships with public institutions.
It can also serve as a meeting point for manufacturers, distributors, integrators and service providers, helping the industry collaborate more effectively and build a shared vision for the future.
The professional AV industry has a significant economic, technological and cultural impact, and having an organisation capable of communicating that value is essential for its continued growth.
